6. "SOLITUDE AETURNUS are back, again on a new label, but "Adagio" clearly stands in the tradition of their previous four albums, both musically as quality-wise. After "Downfall" had seen a few foreign elements, the classical epic Doom reigns supreme on "Adagio", only the guitars have a slightly modern touch to their sound, but apart from that.

7. Adagio unfortunately is Solitude Aeternus going through the motions, as they seem to have been for some time now, such that that venerable label is reduced to 'above-average Candlemass clone'. If nothing else, with thirteen tracks the album is a little too unfocused and honestly just too long.

8. Without a doubt in my opinion one of the very best Doom Metal albums ever recorded. This brings me to the obvious question: it was 8 years between " Adagio" and "Alone" albums and it's now been 4 years since the release of "Alone". I hope this doesn't mean we still have another 4 years to wait for the next Solitude Aeturnus album!
